Painted Wings and Wild Things: A Celebration of Art, Nature & Place
Resident and visitors are invited to experience a one-day celebration where art and nature come alive in full color. Join us as two new, large-scale nature murals are unveiled—one an Audubon Project Mural featuring threatened bird species and lush botanicals, and another unique two-sided mural connecting Illinois’ prairie past to today’s marsh and lake wildlife. The day also includes hands-on art activities for all ages and a mixed-media art exhibition inside Mendota’s historic Carnegie Library museum. Discover creative energy, environmental storytelling, and small-town charm—all blooming together for one vibrant day in Mendota.
