Full-Time Water Department

The City of Mendota has an opening for a full-time permanent employee in the Water Department. Responsibilities include the maintenance and repair of all aspects of the water and collection systems as well as other related duties as assigned.
Qualified individuals should possess the following:

• Have a mechanical background
• Experience with hand and power tools
• Experience with heavy machinery or be able to learn to operate backhoe, front loader tractor.
• The ability to trench and install tile
• The ability to operate snow plow
• Have or be able to obtain Class B CDL with air brake and tanker endorsements
• Have or be able to obtain State of Illinois Water Operator certifications
• Applicant must have a strong work ethic
• Applicants must be able to work well with others and work diligently without supervision.
